The Formnext trade fair in Frankfurt is one of the largest events for additive manufacturing. This year, we at Advanced Additive were excited to join. It gave us the perfect chance to showcase Project Path, connect with industry leaders, and gather valuable feedback from visitors and partners.

A Warm Thank You to Our Supporters at Formnext
We are immensely grateful to Bayern Innovativ for inviting us to join their community booth. Their support during the preparation and throughout the event was invaluable. With their seamless coordination and guidance, our participation was smooth and efficient. We’re proud to have been part of their team at the show.
We also want to thank everyone who stopped by our booth in Hall 12.1, Stand C72. It was inspiring to meet new faces and reconnect with familiar ones. The insightful conversations and feedback on our software, especially Project Path, were extremely valuable. Each discussion deepened our understanding of industry needs and helped us refine our solutions for even greater impact.
Exploring the Latest in Additive Manufacturing at Formnext
Formnext wasn’t just about showcasing our own innovations—it was also an opportunity to explore the latest from the industry. We visited other booths and discovered exciting products and technological advancements. It was inspiring to see so many talented individuals pushing the boundaries of additive manufacturing.
What Did We Present at Formnext?
At Formnext, we proudly showcased Project Path — our first complete showcase demonstrating how we optimize path planning for 3D printing with Advanced Additive. This serves as a sample for Project Path AI, highlighting key functionalities that will be integrated into our AI-powered solution.
A key feature we emphasized was the improved print quality consistency, achieved through our software’s optimization. We presented several printed parts that clearly demonstrated the real-world advantages of our technology.
The Power of Optimization: A Close Look at Printed Parts
Among the parts we presented, we highlighted two sets of components with significant differences in print quality: red parts from Cura and blue parts with Advanced Additive.



- The red parts, sliced with the popular Cura slicer, displayed common issues found in traditional slicing methods, such as gaps and fluctuations in the print layers. These issues are often hidden by overlying layers but can compromise part strength, especially under stress or load.
- In contrast, the blue parts, optimized with Advanced Additive software, showed significant improvements. Our enhanced slicing algorithm completely eliminated these gaps and fluctuations, resulting in parts with more uniform and consistent properties.
The Benefits of Consistent Prints: Testing and Results
While aesthetic improvements are valuable, the real benefit of our optimized approach is seen in structurally critical parts. To demonstrate this, we specifically tested tensile strength to highlight how our software impacts parts used in industries like automotive and aerospace, where reliability is key.
In our tests, the blue parts, optimized with our software, showed a significant increase in maximum tensile strength. In fact, some samples improved by up to 39% compared to the red parts. Furthermore, displacement and elongation decreased by up to 15%. This clearly shows how our solution eliminates weak points and better distributes stress.
These results are not only technically impressive — they also underscore the economic benefits of our software. By reducing defects and enhancing part stability, manufacturers can achieve better performance, lower material waste, and ultimately drive more sustainable production.

Our time at Formnext has reinforced our commitment to AI-powered optimization in additive manufacturing. The positive feedback and insights we received will help us refine Project Path AI and bring it closer to the final product. We’re excited to continue developing this solution, which will offer even more advanced features for process optimization, part quality enhancement, and performance improvement.
